Climate change has been at the forefront of debate in recent years. With environmental agencies and research organizations predicting catastrophic events for the planet if we continue at our current fossil fuel consumption rate. In addition, the South African national grid is severely struggling with the growing pressure of South Africa’s energy needs.
As a response to the current state of affairs and through our broad commitments to the South African economy, and our specific commitments to the various sectors, we inevitably recognize the importance of our role in supplying renewable energy that is sustainable in the long run.
Therefore, SAIEC has launched the first nationwide Independent Private Power Producer Campaign (IPPPC) for households and businesses to provide renewable energy that is controlled and owned by the people and for South Africa.
How Does It Work
Renewable Energy Development
In collaboration with our partners on the ground and through finance, SAIEC's development of renewable energy wind and solar power plants intends to bring reliable and sustainable energy to South Africa.
All stages of Development
We oversee all stages of the development process - including site selection, project design and development, construction, installation, and ongoing maintenance.
Deployment Guidelines
With any significant project on such a large scale, we always consider the social, political, and environmental issues that surround the project and development will only take place once SAIEC’s strict development guidelines have been met.
Renewable Energy Deployment
Through energy procurement and Power Purchase agreements, Renewable energy will then be supplied to municipalities throughout South Africa
The City of Cape Town
Cape Town is part of the 1st phase of this Green initiative Campaign, thereafter energy deployment will take place to other major metropolitan areas of South Africa.
Phase 1 has Begun
This campaign has already begun, however only certain residential areas have been allocated for phase 1.
Electricity at a Reduced Rate
With strategic site selection and energy efficiency management, electricity at a reduced rate will then be distributed to SAIEC's clients in the allocated areas.
Energy Tier Distribution
Distribution will take place through different tier levels, separated between allocated and non-allocated areas. Between registered and non-registered applicants.
Our Mission
It is our aim for further energy development to ensure that our mission of supplying 100% of South Africa with 100% renewable energy gets realised.
To Qualify as an IPPP
To qualify as a Tier 1 IPPP, you must be within one of the available allocated areas, be an owner of residential or commercial property and have one of SAIEC's Solar Systems installed.
Qualified IPPP's
Will receive a client code and certificate indicating their registration with us, and with this comes numerous benefits in addition to the usual benefits of Solar Power.
Registration
Individuals within non-allocated areas are welcome to register in the meantime, this will put you on the waiting list to receive electricity at a reduced rate in the future.
The Campaign's Logic
The Campaign aims to tackle South Africa's energy crisis from multiple angles thereby ensuring Energy Security and a more sustainable and consistent energy future.
Your Solar PV System
Having your Solar PV System expertly installed by SAIEC and with the highest grade of products ensures that the total design life of your system is increased.
Further Energy Distribution
It needs to be because a more efficient and long-lasting Solar PV system will reduce pressure on the National Grid and therefore allow for more distributed Renewable Energy across South Africa.
Sustainability of South Africa's Future
As a result of this process on a national scale, it will provide for the most efficient use of the supplied renewable energy.
An Energy Smart South Africa
Combining aspects of smart technology, automation, and sustainable energy to bring about a truly Sustainable energy model to an Energy Smart South Africa.
As an Individual
All individuals make the collective, that is why you will be able to benefit from this strategic process by ensuring that you get the very best technologically possible return for your investment in Solar PV.
